My 1st Christmas Cards with Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane

Since I just started stamping in February 2016, I have never made Christmas cards by hand. I have purchased 2 other SOA boxes & loved them, so I knew the SOA Christmas box would be perfect for my 1st Christmas cards and it just happened to also be around the same time I heard about World Card Making Day.
I wasn't sure what to start with first...I made several candy cane striped panels & tried several different things...some I liked & some I didn't.
I'm very proud & excited about the cards I did make. While making these cards, I realized I need to make a TON of Christmas cards this year. People I work with, my husband works with. We belong to 2 car clubs & have a lot of friends in each club, family, friends..so somewhere around 50 -70 cards...I will mass produce some cards that are mostly alike for about half of them, but the others, I will try to change them up.
Last I heard, this SOA Candy Cane Lane collection is almost SOLD out. Here is the link if you are interested & are quick: http://cpstampofapproval.com/.
All Stamps & Dies for the 4 cards below are from the Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane collection.

Here are my cards. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I also made some other cards for World Cardmaking Day.

The 1st card are some fall leaves just to say Hello.
I used Ranger watercolor paper and used several colors to make all the fall colors (Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles, Barn Door) I used 2 of the watercolor papers (cut to A2 card size) and did the orange/red colors on one & the green colors on the other. I then used my Lawn Fawn Stitched leaves to cut of the leaves. I arranged them on kraft cardstock, glued them down with Ranger Multi Matte and then cut them all out with the largest stitched rectangle from Lawn Fawn. I then used a hello die I have from  Katscrappiness (www.katscrappiness.com) and die cut it from black cardstock I have from Recollections. I cut some vellum about 1 inch wide & 5 long and glued the hello die cut with Ranger Multi Matte then folded the vellum over the edges of the kraft cardstock and glued in place. Then glued kraft cardstock onto a A2 white card base.

For my 2nd card I did a fun Candy Corn Trick or Treat card. I used the Trick or Treat stamp set from Lawn Fawn for this card.
I started with Neenah Super Smooth Solar White 80# paper, stamped the Candy Corns every which way onto it with Verafine Onyx Black Ink then embossed over that with Wow Superfine Clear Embossing powder (since I tend to smear black ink very easily) and used some Copic markers to color the orange & yellow areas (sorry didn't write down colors).

I then got some black cardstock from Recollections stamped the Trick or Treat sentiment in the middle of the paper with Wow White Embossing powder and heat set. I then stamped the bats with Versamark ink & used Wow Clear embossing powder to heat set keep them tone on tone but noticeable. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die to cut out the Trick or Treat area. I then popped that up on some fun foam (from Joann's). I attached the candy corn panel to a piece of black cardstock then applied all the whole thing to an A2 cardbase.

Here are both the cards together...which I finished around midnight Saturday...great way to end world cardmaking day.

Now that I've had my fun making my 1st Christmas cards & World Card Making Day/Weekend...I head off to clean my craft room...lol

Thank you for checking out my blog & cards!

MFT Dragon cards

I finally broke down & bought the My Favorite Things Magical Dragon stamp set. So Monday evening, I sat down & decided to color me some Dragons. Once I was done, an idea popped into my head & I just had to make a card.
I had bought some Gina Marie banner dies and I decided I wanted to use them. Here is the card I came up with. I used my Prismacolor pencils & gamsol to color the dragon. I stamped the fire/smoke clouds on vellum & then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then cut it out by hand and used my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter pen to make it sparkle. I also used my SN Clear Glitter pen to color in his horns & wings. I then used some Tiny Star Confetti to put around the card. I decided a kraft color card base would compliment this card.

Sorry the lighting is so crappy, it was 11pm & I couldn't get out of the shadow to take the picture...I'm working on getting a box to take my pictures in. All supplies used will be at bottom of the post.

Now onto my 2nd card & the one I am super excited about. I had gotten a brick stencil from Amazon a couple of weeks ago & hadn't used it yet. While I was coloring the dragons, the idea came to me. So I stopped coloring & got some Texture paste, mixed a little Antique Linen Distress ink with it & put it on a A2 card base. Once that was dry, I then used a die (I had gotten it a week ago from a FB resell site so I don't know the name of the die or who makes it, but I LOVE this die, I also got one with circles instead of squares) to make the "windows". I used some Tumbled Glass Distress ink to sponge on some blue behind where the windows would be. I then popped the panel up on some fun foam and applied to a A2 card base. Once that was done, I then put some foam dots on the back of the small characters and placed them in the windows and then glued the dragon on the left side. I used a smaller banner die and used some Antique Linen to sponge the edges & top of the banner & glued right  under the dragon.
I used my SN Clear Glitter pen on the horns, wings, crown, shield & feather in the cap. All supplies used at bottom of post.
I love the depth of the characters on this card.

Thank you for looking at my cards. Feel free to sign up to get notifications when I make & post new cards. My goal is to post at least once a week & hopefully twice a week.

Easy Die Cut Inlay cards inspired by Jennifer McGuire video

Jennifer McGuire inspired cards

When I woke up this morning, I grabbed my phone and checked my notifications. I had one for a Jennifer McGuire video and if your anything like me, you watch ALL of her videos (BIG craft girl fan crush...lol). So I have tried many of her techniques, but this one I really liked...and it worked out great the 1st time I tried it (that doesn't happen often...lol).

This is the video by Jennifer McGuire for Easy Die Cut Inlay Background

After I got done, I went into my craft room and tried this out. I had some 12x12 paper I had gotten from JoAnn's that was similar to the glitter paper from Simon Says Stamp. I had a You die from my Stamp of Approval Beautiful World  kit (you can get them only in Catherine Pooler online store now, follow this link: http://shop.catherinepooler.com/collections/all )

I then looked through my stash to see what kind of dies I have that would work. I found MFT Modern Morocco background, Paper Smooches Roses & Dainty Flowers, Darice Butterflies & Craftin Desert Divas Scribbled Circle dies that I wanted to use.

I cut 2 of each color of the glitter card stock, into 4"x5 1/4" pieces for a total of 8 pieces.  I then used some Adhesive Sheets from Scrapbook Adhesives (I got 10 packs of this when a store when out of business for $1 each-great deal) to use as my double sided adhesive for sticking my glitter paper to Recollections 110lb card stock cut to the same size as my glitter paper 4x5 1/4.
I then got to work using my Cuttlebug to use the dies to try the above technique. I'm not going to go into great detail on how this was done since I've linked the above video on how to do it.

Once the die cutting was done on the glitter paper, I then cut out the word You from some white glitter paper 6 times. I also cut the You 2 more times on white 80lb card stock and then glued them all together with Ranger Multi Matte. I then used the All About You stamp set to stamp out the Happy Birthday To & Are Awesome and stamped it with Versamark on some black cardstock (from JoAnn's) and used Wow Metallic Plantinum embossing powder. I heat set, then used my Tim Holtz Tonic paper cutter to cut out the Happy Birthday & used a CC Designs banner die to cut out the Are Awesome.

I then started putting the cards together. I didn't use any fun foam to put my glitter card onto my card bases, i just put it directly on the card base. I used my ATG gun to put them on.
Once I got done putting these all together, I realized I only cut 6 You's out & had 2 more card bases left (My DUH moment of the day-so far...lol).
I decided to change it up and got out a LOVE die from Lawn Fawn & the You from All About You stamp set. I went with Black glitter card stock and cut it out 2 more times with black card stock. I stamped the You on white card stock and cut out with my trimmer again.

Here are my cards.

Look at all that GLITTER!!!

These were so much fun to make! My favorite ones are the Modern Morocco & the Scribbled Circle backgrounds, they came out looking great! Give this a try with some of your dies & have some fun!
I hope everyone gives this technique a try and please make sure & share your creations with me.

See below for total supply list.

I'm off to try my hand at some fall & Halloween cards!

Hello...My 1st post & 1st Blog

Hello everyone. This is my very 1st post (yea!). Thank you for checking out my blog page and seeing what I have to say & show.
I love to make cards, stamp & color images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers & decorate cakes! I will be showing all of these on this blog, mainly the cards & stamps and the occasional cake when I get an request to make one.
This will be a work in progress as I add cards I've made & will make, so please bare with me.

I have entered one of my very favorite cards into Catherine Pooler's "Win the NEXT Stamp of Approval Box". I created this card & gave it out at Mother's Day this year. It is still one of my favorite cards! If you see this before June 22, 2016, could you go to the link & vote for my cards #62-#66. If not here is the card for you see. It was made with all items found in the Stamp of Approval Beautiful World Kit. I used Ken Oliver Color Brusts for the butterflies, You & the background colors. Here is the link to vote if you see this in time. (http://catherinepooler.com/2016/06/15/win-the-next-stamp-of-approval-box-coming-mid-july/ )
Thank you for checking out my blog & I will be back later in week with more cards & one day soon a cake!
